Humaira Azam, a distinguished leader with 34 years of experience in the financial industry, is known for her exceptional ability to drive business turnarounds and deliver outstanding leadership in challenging and multicultural environments.
Humaira Azam is the first female Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of any bank and NBFI in Bangladesh namely Trust Bank Limited and IPDC Finance PLC. Her vast expertise spans corporate and commercial banking, foreign trade, treasury, retail banking, special assets, branch banking, Islamic banking, credit management, capital management, financial institutions and securities.
Humaira Azam's illustrious career began in 1990 as a Management Trainee at ANZ Grindlays Bank, where she quickly grew through the ranks to take on various leadership roles. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in the success of three multinational banks, a financial institution, and two local private banks. Her tenure at HSBC Bangladesh, Standard Chartered Bank, and IPDC Finance PLC, among others, has been marked her ability to develop strong frameworks, expand businesses, and implement successful strategies.
Most recently, Humaira Azam served as the Managing Director & CEO of Trust Bank Limited, where she led the bank to significant growth in operating profit, deposit base, and foreign remittance. Her leadership was instrumental in Trust Bank achieving several milestones, including becoming a principal member of VISA, improving its capital base, and earning recognition for its Islamic banking division. Under her outstanding leadership, Trust Bank Limited has been recognized twice as one of the seven banks in the “Sustainability Rating” in the year 2022 and 2023.
Humaira Azam is known for her strong leadership qualities, analytical skills, and commitment to excellence. She has been recognized by Oxford as one of the top-tier leaders globally at an advance leadership programme. Additionally, she has completed an advanced leadership program at INSEAD. She was also featured in the top seven most influential women in Islamic business and finance in the WOMANi 2021 and 2022 reports by Cambridge IFA and has received numerous awards, including the "Women of Inspiration Award" by JCI and the "Top Women Bankers Award" by BRAC Bank Limited. She has mentored many of today's top executives in the financial industry. Humaira Azam holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka. Her professional development includes extensive participation in various training programs, workshops, and seminars, both within her home country and internationally.
Quamrul Islam, Senior Executive Vice President joined erstwhile Vanik Bangladesh Limited on October 7, 1997 which was later renamed as LankaBangla Finance PLC. During his tenure of office he held different positions and looked after the functions of Finance and Treasury. Currently he is discharging the responsibility as Head of Treasury & Financial Institutions.
Mr. Islam obtained his graduation with Honors and post graduation in Accounting from the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University. He started his career with “PRAN Group” one of the largest conglomerates of the country as a Management Trainee Officer in early 1997. Mr. Quamrul is the Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Money Market Dealers' Association (BAMDA).
Shamim Al Mamun, FCA, Senior Executive Vice President brings 10 years of professional experience in various institution. He is working as Chief Financial Officer of Lankabangla Finance since April 2013. Before joining this Company, he was the CFO & Company Secretary of Fareast Stocks & Bonds Limited. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
He obtained his Bachelor degree in Computer Science from American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB). He is also an ex-cadet and completed his secondary education from Sylhet Cadet College. Mr. Shamim possesses extensive competencies and experiences in Strategic Planning & Forecasting, Process design and Productivity improvement, Financial Governance & Modelling, Financial Reporting and Financial Management. He is also a resource person of ICAB in the capacity of providing training to students and in the process of educational development.

Md. Kamruzzaman Khan, Senior Executive Vice President joined LankaBangla Finance PLC. as a Head of CMSME Financial Services Division since 2013. Mr. Khan has over 19 years of Banking and Financial Services experiences. Prior to joining LankaBangla Finance PLC., he served in BRAC Bank Limited under SME Division in different positions including Manager and Senior Manager.
Mr. Khan has obtained an M. Com in Accounting and also attained an MBA from State University of Bangladesh with Major in Finance & Banking. He participated in advance training programme on Financing SMEs in NIBM, Pune (India) organized jointly by Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany. Mr. Khan also participated in strategic Planning & Thinking programme on SME financing in SIM (Singapore), an enthusiastic learner Mr. Khan is currently pursuing a professional certificate course on ‘Strategic Management’ from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
He has extensive knowledge and experience in business development, risk governance, organizational transformation and driving sustainable business growth.
Mohammad Hafiz Al Ahad, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of Human Resources, is accountable for leading people & culture philosophy and strategy of LankaBangla Finance in alignment with business strategy.
Mr. Hafiz, a results-driven HR professional for almost two decades, started his career with the American Express Bank and subsequently worked as Lead HR for NOKIA (Networks), Head of HR for Philip Morris International (PMI) Bangladesh & Pakistan, Head of HR for The Coca-Cola Company (IBPL), Director-CSO, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Head of HR, Rahimafrooz Bangladesh Limited (Agora) and has obtained local and international exposure in the field of Human Capital Management. For a short tenure, he also served as Chief People Officer (CPO) of Unique Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh. Mr. Hafiz is a strategic and innovative HR professional who translates business strategy into HR actions that improve individual performance, organizational profitability, growth, and employee engagement. An empowering professional who supports companies and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with a unique perspective that human capital is the greatest asset of the organization. Mr. Masum Ali currently serves as Executive Vice President & Company Secretary of LankaBangla Finance PLC., where he is entrusted with a broad spectrum of critical responsibilities to support the Board of Directors and ensure the Company’s full compliance with corporate governance principles, regulatory requirements, and statutory obligations.
With over 23 years of dedicated service at LankaBangla, Mr. Ali brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and leadership experience. Throughout his career, he has held key positions across various strategic functions, including Regulatory Reporting, Corporate Affairs & Board Secretariat, and Accounts & Finance. In his immediate past role as Senior Vice President – Regulatory Affairs, he played an instrumental role in enhancing the Company’s governance framework and strengthening its compliance culture.
Mr. Ali’s deep expertise in regulatory matters and corporate governance, combined with his long-standing association with the organization, have made him an invaluable asset in the role of Company Secretary. He is widely respected for his integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding regulatory excellence.
He is a part-qualified Chartered Accountant (Inter Level) and completed his Chartered Accountancy course from Ahmad & Ahmad, Chartered Accountants in February 1999, under the bye-laws of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from National University, Bangladesh, where he achieved outstanding academic success by securing 7th position in the national merit list.

Mr. Md. Khairul Basher serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer of LankaBangla Finance PLC., where he is responsible for formulating and executing the Company’s credit risk strategy, overseeing the end-to-end credit approval process, and ensuring portfolio quality in alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
With over 21 years of diverse experience in the banking and financial services industry, Mr. Basher brings deep expertise in credit risk management, corporate banking, and structured finance. His professional journey reflects a strong track record of leadership across prominent financial institutions.
Prior to joining LankaBangla, Mr. Basher held the role of Vice President & Unit Head in the Credit Risk Management Division of Bank Asia PLC. He also briefly served as the acting Head of the bank’s flagship MCB Dilkusha Branch, demonstrating operational leadership in addition to his credit expertise. Earlier, at Bank Alfalah Ltd., a leading multinational commercial bank, Mr. Basher served as Manager in the Corporate Banking Division, where he managed a significant asset portfolio and evaluated large-scale credit proposals with a strong focus on risk-return optimization.
He also served at Southeast Bank Ltd. in critical credit-focused roles, including the Export Finance Cell and the Syndicate & Structured Finance Cell, further broadening his understanding of specialized credit products and regulatory frameworks.
Mr. Basher is widely recognized for his analytical acumen, strategic thinking, and strong command over credit policy formulation, portfolio analysis, and risk governance. His ability to balance business growth with prudent credit practices has consistently added value to the institutions he has served.
He holds both an MBA and BBA in Management from Islamic University, Kushtia, completed in 2002 and 2001, respectively.

Senior Assistant Vice President & Head of Corporate Business
Mr. Salauddin Wahid Adnan serves as the Senior Assistant Vice President and Head of Corporate Business at LankaBangla Finance PLC. With over 16 years of experience in corporate finance, portfolio management, and strategic business development, he plays a pivotal role in driving corporate growth and institutional resilience. He contributes to strategic planning, risk governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Mr. Adnan leads a diverse portfolio across emerging and mid-sized corporates and has consistently maintained top performance in portfolio quality, cost efficiency, and liability mobilization. Under his leadership, the Corporate Business Division has achieved record-low NPL and cost-to-income ratios over four consecutive years.
He previously held key roles in emerging corporate and liability business, successfully aligning balance sheet growth with liquidity and ALM priorities. He has also spearheaded initiatives in digital client onboarding, credit process automation, and institutional capacity building.
Mr. Adnan holds an MBA in Finance from Bangladesh University of Professionals and a BBA in Finance & Banking from the University of Rajshahi. Before joining LankaBangla in 2014, he served in senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank, United Finance PLC., and Habib Bank Limited.
