LB Foundation donated to
Bangladesh Retire Government Employee Welfare Association on July 05, 2011
LB Foundation, a non profit organization of LankaBangla Finance Limited donated to Bangladesh Retired Government Employees' Welfare Association on July 05, 2011 for procurement of medical equipments and accessories for the charitable hospital of the Association under its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). The hospital will be operated for welfare of the retired government employees and other underprivileged groups of the society. Mr. Mohammed Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Managing Director (Current Charge), Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Vice President of LankaBangla Finance Limited and Mr. M. Hafizuddin Khan, Chairman and Mr. A. Z. M. Hossain, General Secretary of Bangladesh Retired Government Employees' Welfare Association were present during donation handover session.
Recently, LB Foundation also donated to Kishorganj Eye Hospital for performing cataract surgery for the poorest patients.

develop policies that integrate responsible practices into daily business operations, and to reporting on progress made toward implementing
these practices.
From the standpoint of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we discharge our task in a way to incorporate:
- Adoption of internal controls in complying with the requirements from regulatory bodies;
- Commitment to diversity in hiring employees and barring discrimination;
- Management teams that view employees as assets rather than costs;
- High performance workplaces that integrate the views of line employees into decision-making processes;
- Adoption of operating policies that exceed compliance with social and environmental laws;
- Encouraging business through advanced resource productivity, focused on the use of natural resources in a more productive, effi cient and profi table fashion (such as recycled content and product recycling);
- Taking responsibility for conditions under which goods are produced by the undertakings fi nanced by us.
LankaBangla is devoted to the best utilization of human resources. LankaBangla has long been dedicated to driving educational improvement;
in fact, education has been part of LankaBangla culture since it was founded in 1996. LankaBangla has donated an illustrating amount of
money in 2010 through different educational programs such as scholarship, debate, etc.
As part of its CSR duties, LankaBangla took steps to distribute blankets and different kinds of warm clothes among the poor people living in
different slums and areas in Dhaka city during the winter season. The programs to distribute the clothes to protect the poor from fi erce cold
were arranged from the initiative of LB Foundation. The programs were attended by Managing Director and other high offi cials as well as
operating people of LankaBangla.
LankaBangla is well aware of the health, safety and well being of employees and their immediate family members. And in this connection,
LankaBangla provides hospitalization insurance coverage facilities to the staff. At the same time, LankaBangla has insurance scheme for its
employees against unforeseen accidental loss and death.
In conclusion, LankaBangla typically addresses issues impacting virtually every area of operations: governance and ethics; employee hiring,
opportunity and training; responsible purchasing and supply chain policies; energy and environmental impact, etc. |
